When Ciara first came out I fell in love with her. I loved her height, her shape, the way she danced, and of course her music. Her first 2 albums played over and over on my iPod. For some reason I never bought her 3rd album, not because I thought it was corny, I just didn't buy it. When her 4th album came out I decided I wasn't going to buy it, but yesterday I changed my mind. After listening to 11 tracks on her new album I was completely disappointed. Ciara told Pete Lewis of Blues & Soul magazine, that the album "is really about her trusting her instinct and going back to the R&B/urban basics in her music – like where she first started, in the days of "Goodies" and "1, 2 Step". Basic Instinct is far from where she first started; It's the worse album I've purchased on iTunes. I thought she was going to make a comeback (since she claimed she was going back to her roots), but obviously she didn't. Save your money and save your time, don't buy this album!
